In 1969, Ron and his brother John
left jobs with area painting contractors to start their own business. Thus,
Goens Brothers was born. The brothers had served apprenticeships with their
father, who was also a painting contractor, and Ron's sons have since joined the
trade. John Goens II came on board in 1982, and Ron Goens Jr. started in 1985.
Both sons work as project estimators.
 Since
its inception in 1969, Goens Brothers has expanded to five
companies including: Goens Brothers Painting, Goens Lead Abatement Inc. and
Goens Equipment Rental & Sales, and co-ownership in Beagle-Goens Homes Inc. and
Home Siding & Window Company. Ron plans to keep it all in the family. Ron Goens
bought out his brother John in 1989, when he retired. And when Ron retires, his
sons will take over. Thus keeping it, the Goens Brothers.
